Is trading .mp3 files illegal?
Yes. Trading copyrighted .mp3 files is illegal. Freshly Baked Sounds is not a trade server. We provide a FREE remote backup/archive service to our members (flood, fire, theft, etc happens). You must have purchased an original copy of it before you are legally allowed to download it from this server. In other words, you may not download anything that you do not already own. As a member, you are resposible for your own actions.
What is Hotline?

What software do i use to encode (rip) .mp3 files from CDs?
There are *many* good CD-rippers out there. We recommend using the FREE program CDex. For convenience, you can download the latest cdexbeta5.exe (recommended) from our archive, or get the last stable release cdex110.exe.
What software do i use to listen to .mp3 files? How do i play .mp3s?
The most common .mp3 player is WinAmp. Save time and grab the latest version winamp224.exe from our archive. It has a handy interface (it looks just like a little stereo) with some great plugins. It's also FREE, and who can argue with that?
Can i get download access for just one song... please? please? please?
No. Period. We get asked this question about a bazillion times a day, and the answer becomes a firmer NO with each time we are asked. The terms are posted.
How fast is the connection? What is the max throughput?
The server is on a 512K xDSL. It can maintain speeds holding at or slightly above 512K on good days where there is no traffic between you and the server. There have been burst rates into the 900K to 1.5M range. This rate is inversely proportional to the number of users on the server (more users = less speed).
What are the server specifications? What is your CPU/HDD/etc?
The server is: MS Windoze98, Intel Celeron300A (overclocked to 374MHz), 96MB DIMM, *many* different hard drives (too many IDEs to list here), 10BaseT C-Net NIC, Cisco 675 xDSL modem/bridge.
Is there a charge, banner, or monetary exchange?
Never. Ever. If you receive anything from Freshly Baked Sounds that has banners (other than website hosts/providers) or asks for a dollar amount of any kind, it is a forgery and do not reply. If possible, please notify the administrators of the profit attempt immediately! Freshly Baked Sounds is always completely 100% FREE.
